Last Days at the Farm introduces us to singer-songwriter Ian Jeffs embracing his new incarnation as a solo artist. The former frontman of critically acclaimed rock band 'Twelve Clay Feet' returns with an EP that delivers a deeply moving collection of delicately crafted acoustic anthems. With his distinctive ‘smokey' vocals at the fore, Jeffs conjures poetic and evocative stories of the changing landscape before him, drawn from his experiences living at an artist and musician’s enclave on the outskirts of his native Cambridge.

While the impact of early inspirational bands such as Pink Floyd, The Verve and Doves are present in Jeffs' new sound, Last Days at the Farm owes as much in spirit to the melancholy and introspection of John Martyn and Ben Howard. This new approach is evident as the EP opens with the tender ' Talking to MH.' The plaintive finger picked acoustic guitar gently gives way to Jeffs' powerful yet restrained voice, building intensity and pathos to reveal the 'inimitable howl', that he had been noted for in Twelve Clay Feet. The track, written as a tribute to a friend and mentor who lost her battle with Cancer while Jeffs was starting anew, represents an artist compelled to reflect and evaluate the world around him.

Whether you fall for the blissful Higher, rock and country-tinged Warm Blooded or the pastoral psychedelia of Shadow Play, it’s a bold, intimate record that is rich with genuine emotion, resonating with the influence of seminal artists such as Nick Drake and Neil Young. While the themes of the EP are built around a specific period in Jeffs' life, ultimately, Last Days at the Farm reaches toward something altogether more timeless.

Produced by collaborator and guitarist Andy Nash, the release was accompanied by a nationwide tour including dates in London, Bristol, Sheffield, Liverpool and Leeds, with a further spring tour in the pipeline.
